The History of the Knickerbocker:

Architects William Eames & Thomas C. Young, designed the building in 1899. When the Knickerbocker was constructed, it was the first of its kind, sprawling the Washington Avenue garment and manufacturing district. The Knickerbocker building's industrial architectural elements are large windows, timber ceilings, tons of exposed brick, stained concrete and wood floors. 1300 Washington was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
